Smithfield High School grad Fischer completes Navy Nuclear Power School

Brian A. Fischer, of Smithfield, recently completed Nuclear Power School at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C.

According to a press release, "Nuclear Power School is a rigorous six-month course that trains officer and enlisted students in the science and engineering fundamental to the design, operation and maintenance of naval nuclear propulsion plants."

With the completion of Nuclear Power School, Fischer has attained the rank of Navy petty officer third class.

Fischer, a graduate of Smithfield High School, is the son of Donna Wright.
